Keri MaddoxMrs. Maddox started her dance training at the age of 2. She graduated from Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas, where she served as the team’s top officer her senior year. She was a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes and then attended Texas Tech University. Mrs. Maddox has served as a teacher, choreographer, and judge for several dance performance companies, including NCA Superstar, Starmakers, and Crowd Pleasers Dance Camps. She spent ten years working at Clear Lake High School as a dance teacher and director of the Clear Lake Flairs. During that time, the Flairs won a national title in officer and team categories.
Mrs. Maddox joined Memorial High School and the Markettes in 2012. Over the next two years, the team moved towards more technical performances and won several awards. The Maddox family moved to Park City, Utah, for two years. Upon returning to Memorial, and after being a proud parent of a Markette, she decided to return to teaching and directing. Mrs. Maddox rejoined the Markettes in 2020. Mrs. Maddox resides in the Memorial area with her husband, Brian, and their three children: Jacob, Morgan, and Jackson. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and volunteering at their children's activities. Mrs. Maddox has served as president of the Memorial Lacrosse and Memorial Markettes Booster Clubs. She loves being a part of the Memorial community and teaching at MHS. |
Mari VegaMiss Vega has trained competitively in various styles of dance from an early age. She graduated from Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas, where she was a member of the Seven Lakes Sapphires and served as Junior Lieutenant and Lieutenant Colonel her senior year. She went on to become a member of the 81st line of the Kilgore College Rangerettes, where she was head Swingster, an industry company member, and captain her sophomore year. Miss Vega then attained her bachelor’s degree in communications at Texas A&M. At A&M, she was a member of the Fade to Black dance team. She has had the opportunity to work for various companies, including Ascension Dance, Encore Creative Productions, and Spirit of America. Miss Vega is beyond excited and honored to be the new assistant director of the Markettes. She is looking forward to sharing her passion and experience with the students and learning from and working with Mrs. Maddox.
